i'm 34 now, and i didn't honestly think these were more than "oh i love their music/acting/whatever" now i realize they were crushes and i actually was pretty upset i didn't know i liked women too. was in a super gay (art-design) school then i went to culinary school and my circle is still mostly gay/lesbian people so it was like fml i wish i knew earlier, finally at 21 it was a done deal.

ugh bb- i feel you so hard on this. my teenage bedroom was covered in pictures of female musicians and feminist art. i had a friendship that was very *intense*. i thought i cared so much about ~the gay community~ was because proposition 8 was going to take away my aunts' and friends' right to marry. then i went to college and majored in gender and women's studies and took a few queer studies classes and it hit me but by then i had already been in an abusive relationship where he weaponized my sexuality and was in a safe healthy happy relationship for the first time ever. so now i'm almost thirsty and never got the chance to explore it in a healthy, safe, tender way I deserved

I was talking to my bff about not experiencing love yet, he's also 34 (he's never been in a relationship) but atm we're working on ourselves, trying to be healthy taking care of our bodies and mental health, be the best so we are ready to give and receive love, and wouldn't be better to be in a good place for that? So whatever/whenever it comes it's going to feel great. Idk it might be stupid to think about it this way, but I feel like some of my straight girlfriends who are married right now are at that place where they kinda hate their life or are bored and I feel I'm ready to experience first love and first kisses, hopefully with someone who also is ready for those. And if romance doesn't happen be also in a place where I have friends who care for me as I do for them.
