I love the theme for next year, thank for the huge list of choices. One of my goals is to actually read some non-academic books and explore more non-US and UK writers, so thank you!

i read kim jiyoung born 1982 & that was rly good book, it was just frustrating to read! bc of men! i also read the hen who dreamed she could fly (which was very emotional, i couldn't handle it but i liked it) & the vegetarian (which was so weird & idk how to feel about it but i still enjoyed it lol). i think for january i'm going to read untold night and day by bae suah which has been on my tbr for a bit. thanks again op! i rly love this idea of reading books from authors from different countries, it rly broadens my reading & helps me figure out what i like & find new fave authors!

ahhh I love the themes for 2021! there are so many Korean books translated nowadays. as for Han Kang, Human Acts from her is one of my absolute favourites. I think The Vegetarian is fascinating but Human Acts struck me so hard. it's a bit of a difficult read but it's been years and I still think about it.

Pachinko is also another favourite on this list. it hooked me in from the very beginning and I felt like I was watching a full blown drama series. riveted. I've read some of the other ones on here too, like If I Had Your Face, which I wanted more from. love the list! thank you for putting it together so diligently, OP!

just spent some time trying to find your comment to let you know that i ended up reading human acts as my january book (just finished it!) so i wanted to thank you for steering me in that direction because from what i'm seeing in the january wrap-up, i'm not sure i would have enjoyed the vegetarian as much. so thank you! ☺️

Amazing post OP. I'm really looking forward to each month. I'm hoping to participate because I miss reading books.

So, I've actually been thinking of re-reading Pachinko as it's been a couple years. I also have a copy of Human Acts. A lot of these listed sound great though.

I'm so excited for this! I'm going to be setting up my reading journal soon, and knew I wanted the ONTD reading challenge to be one of my challenges.

What’s a reading journal?

This is my first one I'm trying in January, so as to have one for a whole year, so I'm new, but I've bought a blank bullet journal that I'll draw in. I'm planning on setting up a few pages for each month, and also a few pages for the full annual things I want to track. I'm planning on setting up a page that looks like a bookshelf, and I'll color in each book with a certain color depending on what I've rated it. I also want to put more effort into jotting down thoughts about books I read, cause sometimes I forget why I really loved or didn't really like a book, so I'd like something I can go back and look at my thoughts when they were fresh.

There are a ton of examples on YouTube and Pinterest if you want to look up visuals, because I don't think I did a good job explaining them. lol
