honestly I think she can be a toxic narcissist and a victim of misogyny at the same time lol based off the You're Wrong About podcast it seems like this piece was hugely exaggerated for ~drama~.
also weird that it's considered inappropriate for her to want more money than Nirvana... that's such a petty thing to get mad about and stinks of "angry male music critic who calls Hole ~girl music~" lol
That's not rly the part of the interview that gets disputed though. Half of this piece was just quotes from random people who knew them, basically just repeating rumors and gossip.
The podcast episode is a bit long since it delves into her life pre Cobain etc but the part where they talk about this piece is rly enlightening, I look at it a bit more critically now than I used to.
Is there a general consensus of what happened to him that isn't just a conspiracy theory? She seems batshit in this and I'm all of a sudden curious for the first time
multiple sources say Love was just about to leave him before he died and Nirvana were also rumored to be on the verge of breaking up too. the same month he died he just barely survived a suicide attempt. it's pretty clear he killed himself.
He was depressed, his family had a history of suicide, he was an addict, he was in chronic pain, a friend bought him a gun, he wrote a suicide note.
I think all the rest comes from misogyny/people wanting to blame Courtney, and the usual "I knew this person and can't believe it!" that comes with so many suicides.
Idk enough to have an opinion on Courtney but in a way I admire how much she doesn't give a fuck/doesn't care whether she's hated or not. It's not that I agree with her disrespectful behavior or anything but the concept of not trying to please people is very foreign to me.
I felt the same watching "Anitta Made in Honorio", I'm fascinated by women who have no problems expressing just how pissed or unsatisfied they are. I always sugar coat my feelings even when I'm 100% right.
