She’s so brave to come forward with this. Honestly reading through the details made me sick to my stomach. How could one human put another through such pain 💔 does anyone know if like cps ever got involved when Shia was a kid? Obviously he’s too far gone now and it doesn’t excuse any of his behavior but it’s just so sad to me that the system favors a parents right to children over a innocent child’s right to a stable abuse free life. There’s so many Shias all over the world who basically didn’t stand a chance 💔 I do hope he faces consequences for his horrible actions tho.

I don't know Shia's childhood situation specifically but I can say from experience that things can be reported to the right people and never have anything happen. I told many mandated reporters about what I was going through and it took years before one of them did anything. When she did and the police were called, they never spoke to me and never took action, I just heard about it when I got home from school and was punished.

I’m so sorry that happened to you. You deserved to have your voice heard and your life protected. I’ve worked with kids before and know first hand how badly the system is broken, and how little protection and agency it offers to the innocent ones it’s supposed to be helping. Shia is a text book example of how abusive parenting can set you up for absolute failure in life. Again, it’s not an excuse at this point and he needs to face consequences. But it’s hard for me not be like what if someone had intervened In his early life....I hope to God he never has kids of his own

His movie makes it seem that everyone knew about his situation at “home” ( a filthy motel) but didn’t want to hurt his career by getting involved. They rationalized it and took the chance that by working and making money he could escape his situation within a few years if they stayed complicit. He highlights a specific mentor that his father threw in the pool and threatened to kill if he didn’t leave Shia alone. I shudder to think about what the movie didn’t talk about.
