25 great albums from bad artists

Dec 09, 2020 18:16

This list is not "my list", this is not an ONTD Original. I don't know if I think most of these artists "bad" but I will say some of the list is right on a few of the artists best albums (though I totally disagree about one two rappers on this list). This list is from Yardbarker (via MSN).

Songs from these albums are under spoiler

Right?

More accurate to say that Kings of Leon are a good band and Only by the Night is a bad album.

ETA Aha Shake is my favorite, but I think BOTT is great as a bridge between their old sound and more mainstream sound. Also probably brings back the most memories. Knocked Up is a masterpiece.

agreed. BOTT sounds like the end of something. i remember being a huge, huge fan in high school and imo even in interviews at the time it sounded like they were getting ready to make the kind of bid for the (u.s.) mainstream that ended up working.

so many jams, but yeah as soon as i started reading your comment i heard "knocked up" in my head

same! was such a huge fan in high school. i haven't listened to really anything past OBTN simply because it hasn't interested me much, save for Pyro which I think is a great song.

That 2.5... Howie, Kevin (he is literally perfect I think?) and like 1/2 of AJ?

Agreed. But I loved Black and Blue from bsb tbh. Their first three albums were solid.

Black and Blue was the only BSB album I owned as an N Sync stan and I think because it was a little edgier and showed growth

Fuck millennium

black & blue is worth it for "the call" alone. it think it's their best song.

Same!!! That song was/is such a ride! Actually I think that’s the first and last time I’d heard and operatic vocal breakdown in the middle of a pop song until Little Mix came along 🤔

teenage dream truly is an amazing pop album. i never cared for Katy Perry before or since but that album is somehow emotional, nostalgic, dreamy, energetic, and fun.

I didn't realize Max Martin wrote so many songs I grew up with.

ikr? I used to read the the album song list and see who wrote which song and noticed he wrote so many of the great pop songs of the 00s

I can see why when I searched his name, his net worth is US$260 million

The Swedes are pop geniuses.

Honestly, there are maybe about 10-20 songwriters who have written nearly every pop song you know and love.
