Yep. She deserved at least some semblance of normalcy and happiness and unfortunately Angel couldn't give that to her. And it's clear Angel was in love with her too
I agree, people seem to forget that it was meant as a cautionary tale of sleeping with an older man before you’re ready (regardless of Angel’s vampire age on top of that, he was already 26 when he was first turned as a human/Joyce points out in the episode Passion that he’s clearly way too old for Buffy).
People like to romanticise Buffy later talking about how she will never love anyone else like that again, but that could just as easily be seen as longterm emotional scarring from her getting caught up in a romance that she was in no way ready for at her age. She was 16 for the bulk of the time that they were together, and had only just turned 17 when they had sex
