So... SM has released two different teasers for BoA's next album, "Better," celebrating 20 years of the Queen. The first trailer was nice. Then they dropped the second...

The throwbacks, y'all... the throwbacks. I squealed. And was compelled to bring it to ONTD's attention.

December can't come soon enough!

I love her early cutesy stuff, but if stopping there meant I wouldn't have the stuff she put out after? It ain't worth it.

Besmirching Only One and it's iconic piano?

BLASPHEMY!!!!

And actually, Nega Dola's my favorite "faster" song in a long, long time.

But yeah, I always get in my feels when BoA comes out with something new, but seeing the throwbacks, especially that No. 1 throwback? That's when I was like ".... PLEASE let this actually be a video. I need it."

SM gives her pennies for promotion now.

Her cycle for One Shot Two Shot was, if memory serves, two weeks. Once stage for One Shot Two Shot, one stage for Nega Dola.

And she didn't get any stages for Starry night.

I swear, if the 20th doesn't come with a BLITZKRIEG of promo, I'm going to fume.

It really is unfortunate.

I do, however, think that Better will sell decent levels. Obviously not EXO/BTS levels. Hell, 250K might even sound... unattainable. But I think it will be a good seller.

Didn't her Japanese success save SM Town from bankruptcy, in effect becoming the savior of Kpop?

I never heard that her success was THAT important to SM in Korea... especially because, at the time she was doing her first big push in Japan, they were still living on that HOT/SES money, and considering they gave the talent peanuts, I'm inclined to believe that they were basically Scrooge McDucking it. But I also wasn't into BoA until late 2002, so she was already a pretty big deal.

I may be mixing up Toei and Sailor Moon tbh lol. Except Toei doesn't respect Sailor Moon like SM respects BoA

Sadly, SM kind of just pays lip service to BoA. They're like "you a legend, we still revere you... but you want money for promo? You want guest spots? Nah, we good."

The original figurehead of the Hallyu Wave (and, in my opinion, she does not get NEARLY as much credit for her Hallyu importance as she should) gets dust. It's a sin and a shame.
