there were script excerpts from s3 posted online where the script referred to "supercorp shippers squeal excitedly" or something like that after a Kara and Lena interaction. A show writer confirmed it was a real script. it rubs me the wrong way when i've seen videos of the cast mocking shippers, yet the actual scripts making reference to the excitement of shippers just says to me that they're writing scenes specifically to bait them.
