Do yall have loved ones that are struggling more than they have in the past due to the pandemic and rise of fascism in the US?

My bff just celebrated 3 years and im so proud of her <3 That's a whole toddler!

Do yall know anyone who is reaching sobriety milestones (weeks, months, etc.)

Idk I mean it's hard for me all the time they say it gets easier but sometimes I feel like giving up because I feel like I'm going to end up homeless and on heroin anyways so why even bother. I'm a people pleaser and I have alot of people I don't want to disappoint so I don't relapse and I don't really talk to people who used to get me high. I'm 21 and look really young. I've been around addicts since I was 15 but I don't want to chance getting into some shit with a random person asking them to hook me up. I've been sober since December '17 but I still smoke cigarettes

Damn, that's really impressive. Three years ... wow, that's some serious dedication. And it's not like "lol I gave up potato chips for three years, hee hee" (although I also couldn't do that). You gave up something that was PHYSICALLY ADDICTIVE. I'm really blown away by people who are able to sustain recovery for a damn week, let alone THREE YEARS. That's impressive. Keep going!!

For getting drunk enough to give himself alcohol poisoning and then choosing to get in a car.

Screw off. Alcoholism doesn't excuse potentially killing other people. Not all alcoholics get DUIs. Not all DUIs are committed by alcoholics. Having an addiction doesn't mean you aren't responsible for your own actions.
