Big riri and tame impala fan here, kevin basically wrote new person, same old mistakes envisioning a female r&b artist on the track instead of his own voice & idk why but I think the push for currents to be released so quickly kinda interfered w finding a feature on the track before it came out so when riri picked it up he said it was perfect and exactly how he envisioned the song. And one of my favs from Anti. Seriously when i saw she had that on anti (my fav album!) I was like NO SHIT!!! and freaked out bc she got that tone across soooo much better than kevin's version. A masterpiece
