I mean aren't all sex workers "exploiting sex work for capitalistic gain"? That's kind of the definition of sex work. If people have a problem with celebs joining OnlyFans b/c OF is supposed to be for amateurs only, I can understand the annoyance that famous people are diverting attention away from the little guys. But some people's anger seems to be that these celebs are "fake sex workers" and only "real sex workers" should be allowed on OF. If taking off your clothes and discussing your sex life on camera constitutes sex work for a random nobody I don't see why a celebrity who does the same would not also be considered a sex worker. There seems to be the attitude that you have to make your sole living from SW in order to be on OF, or that you have to be poor and desperate to be on OF, which, if you excluded celebrities for those reasons, you'd probably have to exclude a bunch of other people too.

I guess the issue is celebs jumping on the bandwagon and taking work from people who helped build up the platform which I get.

Are all of the people who are making the big bucks on youtube, IG, twitch or whatever the OGs who built the platforms? Newbies come in and take advantage of existing structures in all walks of life.

I don't necessarily agree with it tbf. Noone owns a platform. Anyone and everyone has a right to make an account.
