almost every cooking show is skewed against people of color. their cuisine is called exotic, repetitive, or they are asked to cook completely different stype of food while marco is making italian food without issue for the 8th challenge in a row.

Netflix’s the final table felt soo egregious in that respect. You could tell some judges and contestants had no respect for food from “certain” countries... I couldn’t finish it, BUT I learned about some real cool chefs doing great things!

With Food Network Challenge it was "I see you're a POC cooking another culture's food. Hmmm. I'm sending ~helpful notes~ that you better stick with your mother culture." :P

soooo I’m new to watch GBBO, been watching it this year and the occasional old episode while I’m cleaning and I’m starting to notice a trend when it comes to contestants having to tone down spices etc for their bakes for the white judges and the judges then go on to complain about too much spice still. From googling it happened to Nadiya in her season and I adore her. Deffo seen it this season too.

This season just feels boring to me. The challenges for the past few seasons feel more and more outlandish, so even very competent bakers struggle for no reason other than for our entertainment. I'm not really feeling the contestants or new host.

I've always hated Paul Hollywood and that he's the only one from the original team left is so frustrating.

The show just hasn't been good since it left BBC

Agreed. Sandi helped keep it afloat a bit longer for me but Matt is no Sandi.

I think Rowan should have gone home week 2, and Sura had a decent track record so idk I felt like Lottie was gonna go home... it is hard to say as a viewer because you can't taste the cakes

I agree. They kept keeping him cause he had "big ideas" but his execution was always a problem. He should have been gone far sooner than he was.
