Also -- I bought this book ages ago and never got into it. Is it good? Should I try again?

I read it last year so I don't remember it too well but I liked it overall. It's a bit slow and is more relationship driven than anything, with lots of subplots involving different characters. I was expecting more of a Victorian cryptozoology gothic thriller based on the title and synopsis, so was left a little wanting, though it has elements of all. I thought it was well-written though.

I might give it a shot -- I tend to like character-driven stuff without a plot.

I read it last year and gave up halfway through. It is really slow which isn't a problem for me if the characters are interesting but in this case I didn't care much for any of the characters.

I think she gave birth the weekend that her Official Secrets movie came out, which was part of the reason its press was basically non-existent (but also because it was fairly odd/bad, so hardly her fault).

Keira's still attached to The Other Typist though. I did like that book a lot but Ilene Chaiken is writing and producing and she's one of the worst tv writers ever, so :/
