Heart of an Animal by the Dears was pretty prophetic which is freaky since they recorded their album last year. Just take a look at these lyrics.

I can finally feel
The age coming up on us
And how
It hasn't been entirely worthwhile
I can definitely feel
The ails taking over us
And now
We're at the bottom of the trash pile

I unequivocally feel
Almost all power drain from us
And now
Looks like it's spreading clear across town
And I can certainly feel
The decay crumbling inside us
And the weight from the rubble's gonna take me down

We are
Without
An impetus
We don't
Know who
We're saving
The more
We try
The more
We will
Inevitably fail

You will see
Who believes
In the heart
Of an animal
Lunacy
Lunacy
Feed our souls
Feed the world

ugh I discovered this album on here and I fell in love. the songs capture our current moment so well. I can't listen to it often tho bc honestly it lowkey scares me with how prophetic it sounds and also just how depressing the songs are lmao.

To be fair, their music has always had these sad doom and gloom feels but that's what I love about them. Their music is so emotional. You should check out their other albums, I can make song recs if you want.

yes! I love sad songs that aren't just about relationships, which is why I loved Lover's Rock. A lot of the songs sound like they're about love and maybe they are, but there's a deeper sense of existential dread and that's my shit! haha.

I honestly don't know what I would've done without Sofi Tukker and their daily(!) live streams. I love them so, so much for it.
Meet Again will probably ultimately be my corona era song.

I remember listening to Lost in Yesterday by Tame Impala when I first got stuck at home. Feel kind of uneasy listening to it now. :/
