I used to love this show but much like when I read Breaking Dawn and it made me realize how truly shit the entire series was the finale made me realize this whole show was trash. Except for Let's Go to the Mall. That is a certified bop.

I have enjoyed people pointing out to me that Barney was ruined because Ted, the unreliable narrator, wanted to justify his ending up with Robin so in his "retelling of the story to his kids" he "made" Barney more of a womanizer.

Anyway I'm gonna keep rewatching friends and finish my actual essay about ethics and not this small impromptu essay about HIMYM and how an unreliable narrator can ruin the whole show for the audience.

I...never thought about that. Barney was a creep anyway, but it would fit Ted to make him creepier so he looked like a better match for Robin in his eyes.

i have a very clear memory of listening to the Firewall & Iceberg Podcast (rip) where Alan was arguing that the "the last season takes place in one day" twits might turn out well and Dan was all "nah". Dan was right

I used to know someone who stanned this show so hard and was constantly talking about how it was way better than Friends and not just a cheap imitation (not that Friends is amazing, but come on, it's just a wannabe Friends).

I always thought it was weird that I never saw Josh Radnor in anything before or after this.

This show didn't age well, especially the humor but it did have some genuinely good moments.
