I feel like they shouldn't be shooting anyway, but idk what the situation is like in Canada. Do y'all feel like it's safe enough there for them to be doing this?

Good that the lab is prioritizing schools.

depends on what your barometer for safety is. bc is comparatively one of the better off provinces, but it won't stay that way for long if filming goes on, imo. anyway, no it's not safe IMO and especially not for filming riverdale of all things.

Ugh that sucks. I'm not shocked that these companies care more about money than anything else, though. Hope they enjoy losing all that money to delays, at least!

I'm not in BC but I certainly wouldn't want them shooting if they were here in Ontario. We're firmly in the second wave, we don't have enough lab capacity to test people who need tests for more important reasons than a TV show and I think prioritizing entertainment sends a message to people not to take covid seriously.

Filming for Chicago Med just got shut down too cuz someone on set tested positive.

I hadn't heard about that! I am really not surprised. The way they fly in talent & crew from the coasts makes it inevitable.

It was just reported on Tvline.

Thanks! PD and Fire shoot out the same big studio space, so I wonder if everything will shut down.

I'm really wondering how Canada will deal with our second wave that's starting to form. Will Doug Ford or John Tory take any concrete action for once in their lives? It remains to be seen. With Thanksgiving coming up should be interesting to see how it pans out with the gathering limits and if people will respect them or not. My family is already planning for a smaller dinner with just us, not extended.

Also my office (big law firm in downtown TO) just announced they'll be giving us an allowance to buy things for our home offices, ie desks, chairs, etc, so I think they're anticipating us working from home for a longer haul.

I'm also interested to see if they'll keep the gyms open here; I haven't heard of any cases/breakouts stemming from contact in gyms compared to all the ones I've heard from nightclubs and bars. Anyone heard of anything?

The fact that gyms are open at is insane. Gyms were a Petri dish before this, partially because people are disgusting and don’t clean up after themselves and go when they’re sick.

I certainly haven’t gone back to the gym but I have a coworker who belongs to the same chain and she says the COVID precautions are pretty impressive. You have to book in advance and, depending on the club, there’s usually max 10 ppl allowed per class. Everything’s set up for you so no fighting for equipment and everything is wiped down before during and after.

That being said, that same chain had allowed members to freeze memberships at no charge when they reopened in Ontario at the end of July. Originally, the deadline to restart was mid-October but I recently got an email saying the freeze was automatically extended to the end of the year.

I was halfway through your comment before I realized you were describing the gym I work at, LOL.

I can't speak for other locations but the gym I work at is very strict with the safety precautions and I fight with members on the regular to make sure they follow proper protocol.

Is this starting today? Because Riverdale was still filming last night.
