An HBO Max series that reimagines Akira Kurosawa's "Rashomon" is in the works. Details here:
https://t.co/emwHCTjmhB Hisao Kurosawa, son of Akira, says: “I am excited to see my dad’s vision through this inspirational story kept alive and made accessible to a new generation.”

This is abomination. Delete it immediately, colonizers!!!!!
I also cannot believe RASHOMON is on ONTD out of all the places, my god. I’m genuinely shocked. Like I legit gasped all wtf tbh. Made me glad I didn’t take a long nap I’d have no idea and miss this post lol. I’m so excited finally talking about this with y’all!!! I still want that original rashomon poster to frame on my wall so bad.
WATCH THE ORIGINAL MOVIE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. It’s fucking brilliant and thought-provoking. At least while you guys are here, I can also recommend my fave legendary king Toshirō Mifune’s entire iconic cinematic body of works (Esp with Kurosawa)!!!!

oh.............. I...... okay. welp! Clearly I have strong feelings here lmao. As long as they don’t plan to whitewash and westernize literally everything.

I think Ikiru, Stray Dog, and Drunken Angel are very underrated. I'm partial to Dersu Uzala too since it's a very specific, unique film.

I’m cautiously optimistic about Akira bc I feel like Taika wouldn’t be down with that nonsense
