That's interesting. I remember the cast of Elf being guests on an episode of Jon's old cable show Dinner for 5 the year the movie was released, but I don't remember there being much tension between Will and Jon. Of course it's been 17 years and my memory could be hazy.

The rumor at the time was that Ferrell liked to do a lot of takes to get the right lines/energy, and that frustrated Favreau because it would cause the shoot to go behind schedule.

i still want to know what happened between Will and Adam McKay lol. was it just that the partnership had run its course or was it something else? i wonder if he's ever gonna find another partner like that again or if we'll just get him going full Sandler

I feel like Politics has taken over McKay's brain to a degree where he's not as interested in straight comedy anymore.

Both of their names are still attached bc when they announced they were leaving Gary Sanchez last year they said that all productions that were on air or being developed by them would still have the production banner/them attached as producers. After Succession (and Dead To Me and any other shows of theirs on air) end, the partnership will be officially over

The best way to spread Christmas Cheer is not making a sequel to everything.
