Eh, I know she is problematic and says stupid shit all the time but a bunch of her scoops have come. For example she revealed Disney+ doing a Lando series starring Donald Glover months before another Star Wars site reported it as their "exclusive".
BREAKING: Donald Glover is returning as Lando Calrissian for his own @disneyplus series!
Nnnnn what? On the one hand, errrr it seems pretty clear what the role was gonna be ie, mostly masked. Is Pedro starting to think/realize that because he spends most of the time in the mask, he's not getting the recognition he should from it? I thought he was very good and he's clearly an excellent actor outside the mask, but the acting he does behind the mask without us even seeing his facial expressions is absolutely phenomenal
( ... )

Kinda what I thought, too. But then again I don't see why there couldn't be more scenes without him wearing the helmet now that the end of season one revealed what he looks like. There were plenty of scenes where he was by himself in season one.
Yeah that's kind of what I was processing through the second part of my comment. They've already taken the mystery of his face away, no reason we can't get some Pedro facetime now!!! Especially because the emotional impact is different now. He can take his mask off only around people he fully trusts and that can be an important character moment for him (love interest? Daddy bonding time with Baby Yoda?)
i feel like they've got to explain why his branch of mandalorians never take off their helmets soon. dave filoni, who's heavily involved in this show, also was showrunner for the animated shows (which are still canon) in which multiple mandalorian characters are regulars/recurring and never leave their helmets on full time. i hope that explanation is to come, anyways.
in an Entertainment Weekly interview Interview, Jon Favreau basically confirmed Grace's scoop. She said that these problems arose halfway across the season and this is what Jon said.
And while the first season’s episodes very strictly focused on Mando, season 2 adds new storytelling angles. “As we introduce other characters, there are opportunities to follow different storylines,” Favreau says.
Idk, I think there's a difference between introducing more storylines and following different characters as the show progresses and the main actor quitting to never be seen again halfway through.
