Google tells me his name is Armand Hammer, which comes from his great-grandfather who DID have an investment in Arm & Hammer, but only invested in it cause people assumed he invented it because of his name... Basically he's rich.

I was curious as well. Apparently his great grandfather was named this because Arm and Hammer was the symbol of the Socialist Labor Party of America, which his father was a leader of. He was so frustrated with being asked if he was named after Arm & Hammer Baking Soda that he tried to buy it. Both groups got the idea of the arm and hammer symbol from the god Vulcan.
