if/when he goes next year barca doesn't get any money do they?
i know he brings in major money for the club in name recognition, jersey sales, etc etc etc, but i bet city would've given them a lot of money so idg why they wouldn't get some money out it when they could.

maybe they didn't get to an agreement, allegedly they were going to let him go if they got enough money to buy new players + improve the team but also nobody wants him to leave, Spain , La Liga, everyone would lose too much if he leaves.

precisely. They are paying alot of salary this year, forgoing a transfer fee, delaying the inevitable rebuild that needs to happen and he is an unhappy player.

Unless they get him to stick around (possible) this is a long term losing proposition imo. And right now, Barca are looking like a terrible club
