It sucks having to write and record your own acceptance speech if you end up losing. I know someone who just won an LA-area Emmy who was asked to pre-record his speech, but he just assumed that the other nominee didn't have to.

a shame. the baftas did it live and it made it very endearing on the winner's side and because there wasn't a walk to the podium it still shortened the ceremony time.
