A lot of Aussie actors started on Neighbours or H&A - Chris Hemsworth, Samara Weaving, Margot Robbie, Isla Fisher

Amanda Seyfried was in quite a few shows before Mean Girls (but most known was prob Veronica Mars)

Daniel Kaluuya was in Skins

What's weird is that 3 or 4 years after she left AMC, she was on an episode of Law & Order: SVU where she had an almost identical plotline. Another AMC actress (Cady McClain) is in the episode too.

Brie Larson was also on an episode/s of The League. I'm still fascinated that I watched every episode of that show.

Happy Days (and Mork & Mindy) Robin Williams did well in movies for a while. He was at least nominated for Oscars 4x. Not sure if it counts but Ron Howard and Penny Marshal had a couple of movies but are mostly known for directing.

The only other one I can think of is John Travolta from Welcome Back Cotter. He has been in a lot movies but they mostly suck because he's not really award material.

Yeah, he was Opie on Andy Griffith and Richie Cunningham on Happy Days (he also did American Graffiti in there) before he went all-in on directing.

Does Lizzy Caplan count? She was in Mean Girls before Party Down...though I guess Party Down boosted her profile and gave her another run at some theatrical stuff and then Masters of Sex.

Michael J. Fox did like four seasons of Family Ties after Back To The Future came out, and he was doing lots of movies. But he went back to TV in the 90s anyways

Also this doesn’t count but it still blows my mind that Sean Gunn went from doing seven seasons of Gilmore Girls to having roles/doing a high profile stand in gig in four, billion dollar grossing MCU movies

tbh sean gunn being in the MCU didn't really surprise me since his brother directed all the guardians of the galaxy movies

It didn’t surprise me that he’d have a role as a Ravager, but seeing him in his Rocket stand in gear in behind the scenes videos with like Evans and RDJ while shooting the big scenes in Endgame is still so weird to me.

Like I love Rocket and Thor’s rapport in the last two Avengers movies, so it’s wild that the reason it’s so good is half Bradley Cooper’s voice performance, and like half Kirk from Gilmore Girls giving the performance on set

Caplan was also on Freaks & Geeks.

Party Down was so funny but I’m sure if I went back and watched it now there’d be problematic shit
