Original songs for film had their heyday in the 80s/early 90s. I love watching the music videos from that era. "I Will Always Love You", "My Heart Will Go On", even stuff like "Take My Breath Away" (I can't hear this song without thinking of Tom Cruise). Iconic stuff that doesn't happen anymore. At least not with the longevity it did in the past.
