as someone who worked as a hostess I would like to say I would just attend the customers and take them to their table to have dinner lol

as the rest is truly not my place.

a hostess at an applebee's might not be the same as a hostess in a gentleman's club

i agree that strip culture that has been ripped off and FKA Twigs has done that but i think its weird that when sex worker as an identity comes up 99% of the time, its to attack cis women for not supporting them more and never to address men.

and those cis women are always being attacked for saying their experience of being exploited for money for their female sexuality makes them feel for sex workers.

It's the same with everything. It's always women who are attacked.

"99% of the time" where do even get this statistic? this is a conversation about civilians (non SWers) profiting off of aesthetic choices, activities, skills, language, ETC. while completely disregarding sex work as legitimate. ur last sentence has nothing to do w this topic either

No one’s gonna talk about this MV? 🤔I watched about halfway before I had to stop. It is too skeezy imo.

lol @ “let’s hold people pretending to be sex workers as accountable as we hold rappers pretending to be gangsters”

who does that? joe budden? lmao the internal misogyny comes out. no one actually polices male rappers for their lies. people talk about it online but no one is telling rick ross to delete or alter all his work where he lied about pushing drugs.

also “her problematic body of work”

??? twigs started pole for last album and did not touch it before then if i’m not mistaken?? what else is problematic? her using bdsm imagery when she actually is into bdsm? her dancing sexy in anyway? like...

i feel like this person has a problem with twigs in general and wants to paint any imagery of twigs exploring her sexuality or expressive dancing as robbing sex workers of something

and as a woman who isn’t a sex worker, i understand i am privileged and that any taboo exploration of my own sexuality is allowed because sex workers have suffered but its also because WOMEN as a whole have suffered. dancing sexy doesn’t belong to sex workers despite burlesque and pole existing. female non-sex workers explored their sexuality too and were exploited to appeal to the male gaze without having actual sex as well.

idk these are just random thoughts i’m having which could be shitty and wrong
