I liked Reagan and it made Jess seem really jarring when she returned.

Yeah. I actually really liked Megan Fox in that role. I wish her character had stayed.

Wow.. I guess I'm the only one who couldn't stand that character. She was so robotic, cold, and boring to me.

That episode of Girlfriends where Joan's ex-friend from college comes back to be bridesmaid at Toni's wedding, and reveals that the boyfriend that she /stole/ from Joan gave her HIV which turned into AIDS, and Joan reacts in the most Joan way about it. And Kimberly Elise seems okay for the rest of the episode, and talks about how scared she is that she'll die before seeing her daughter get married, and everyone consoling her about it with "... no ... don't say that" ONLY TO HAVE HER DIE AT THE END OF THE EPISODE WITH NO LEAD-UP. JUST A PANEL THAT SAYS R.I.P. KIMBERLY ELISE AND NO ONE TALKS ABOUT IT EVER AGAIN

It’s so funny because when I originally watched that storyline, I thought it was extremely progressive but looking at it now, it was soooo bad.

Long lost children storyline needs a really good justification to work. And even then, most parents just come out as selfish asshole.

Ugggh the "Eleven's siblings" plot was so dumb. And it was all so she could learn something she could have figured out on her own (a new way to focus her powers).

Her entire storyline in Season 2 felt contrived entirely aroumd keeping her away from the rest of the main cast so she could have the big dramatic hero moment when they're all trapped in the Byers' house. If that was her first appearance in Season 2, it would have been a great moment.

“contrived” is the best way to describe her storyline. I don’t think that El was a strong enough character to carry an entire story by herself and with new characters. One of the good things season 3 did was develop her character while teaming her up with the rest of the cast

i rewatched all of ST and honestly ... none if it really makes sense and it's just kind of frustrating. they either want to do the crazy scientist thing or the crazy supernatural thing and they've merged them in a way that doesn't work at all tbh
