"The director is canadian" made me laugh for some reason.

Last films I watched were A Bigger Splash and I Lost My Body.

Lol, yeah, sometimes I struggle for movie fun facts, which is when you get nuggets like that.

What did you think of those two films? I really liked the former and hated the latter, but I think a lot of people liked I Lost My Body so I might be in the minority there.

No, I didn't like I Lost My Body either. It ended up being about a dude who couldn't handle rejection and being incredibly stupid using power tools. There was no "deep meaning" to it at all. The animation was really nice, though.

I expected to like Body more than I did: the ending was sudden and killed the eerie feeling of it for me. While Splash surprised me with how *there* it felt, something real for all the senses.

I think She Dies Tomorrow looks good! Might have to check that out.

We watched My Own Private Idaho for the first time recently, and I still don't know what to make of it. It wasn't at all what I expected, which I guess was just a standard indie flick. The Shakespearean bits, the stilted and repetitive dialogue interwoven with more natural dialogue, and the ugly title cards all totally caught me by surprise. It's probably one I will have to watch again to form a fuller opinion on, but it did reinforce that we missed seeing more of River Phoenix's talents, which is a damn shame.

We just rewatched Solo last night as part of our Star Wars rewatch, and while I remembered liking it in theaters, I didn't realize how much more I liked it than any of the prequel films. Rogue One is next, which is great bc I remember loving that.

I was already planning on doing this but I’m definitely going to pay to rent She Dies Tomorrow after whatever the fuck Shane Carruth was trying to do to the writer/director Amy Seimetz.

I wanna see Host, the idea of a Zoom-filmed horror movie is really doing it for me. There'd probably be really subtle creepy stuff going on in the background and that's just *chef's kiss* one of my favorite horror movie tropes.

Ontd rarely steers me wrong when it comes to movies, I've seen so many now because of lists like these and individual user recs. The last one was Relic, loved it!

Lots of great docs coming out! And musical ones too! As a Canuck, I will of course watch the Gordon flick. As an old woman, I will of course watch the Go-Go's flick. As a human, I'll watch the ACLU flick. But I can not support any movie called Host when Bong Joon-ho's 2006 masterpiece, The Host, exists. Plus, if I never do another Zoom call, it will be too soon. So CHOOSING to watch a movie filmed through Zoom seems counterintuitive.

Thanks for these awesome posts, Scriptedending!
