oh I'm glad this got a second season, I really liked the first.

I'm still sad the film didn't get a sequel. I know book fans hated it, but I thought it was beautiful and really enjoyable, as long as you didn't expect a faithful adaptation.

I forgot about this show . I started watching the first season but the acting of the little girl was so bad I couldn’t keep watching, stopped after a few episodes

The whole thing felt really flat/empty to me. It was like I could tell they'd spent tons and tons of money on the effects, but then they forgot to leave any budget for costumes and set design.

they didn't allocate enough money to the effects that actually mattered, ie the daemons. none of the cast had any chemistry and, crucially, the daemons seemed incidental in most scenes which fucked the whole thing.

Yeah, big crowd scenes where one or two key characters have daemons only served to create more confusion. It's weird, because apparently this was the biggest production BBC has ever undertaken, money-wise. So I can't figure out how it still looked so cheap.

Loved the books, enjoying this adaptation so far. Granted, it has been like a decade since I read them so maybe the fuzzy memory helps.

I need to finish this, I have 2 or 3 more episodes. I haven’t read the books in 20 years lol so I don’t remember a lot of it. Gotta re-read. I’m glad they introduced Will in the 1st season.
