Idk her or Billie Joe's son or their bands, but considering how predatory most rock/alt/whateverthefuck bands are.. none of this is surprising.

The details she included are disgusting. It's obvious he loved being in power/control over her. Fuck him.

Stories like this make me fucking glad the group of older people I hung with in the deathrock scene were super protective of me when I was a kid. I was going to 18+/21+ shows at 16 but my friends (who were in the band) were always careful of who was talking to me, getting me drinks (only soda, I didn't drink alcohol), etc. I've heard so may horror stories from within my scene/in the general rock scene).

I hope she gets all the support and love she deserves <3

Same w the punk/oi! scene here when I was in high school. Everyone was looking out for us, even older guys. After a messy breakup, I couldn’t go out in that scene for awhile, so I hung out with pop punk warped tour type dudes in a nearby college town and it was a different story. They were fucking awful and most went after/dated minors (including me). Idk what’s up with musicians of that particular genre but creeping on teenage girls is huuuuuge w them, then and now 🤢

Yes for the punk/oi scene! I’ve never felt safer at a show than when I had a bunch of goth dudes in their 30s telling off all the creepers. And even when I turned 18 they were keeping dudes away because “ew you’re a fucking kid with acne and HOMEWORK. I HAVE A MORGAGE.”

And agreed with the warped tour dudes. They were some creepers. Now at goth shows in nyc I am the adult keeping the girls safe. There are bunch of bb goths who I make sure know if some older dude is hustling them to come straight to me and I’ll keep em safe. Most of these girls are under 21 and dudes who are 35+ are going after them, but not on my watch!
