Lol I love that he's in a low budget version of Country Strong. I also remember how Tim McGraw was in it an didn't sing and they gave all the (not great tbh) original songs to Gwyneth and only had Leighton cover existing pop country.

I feel like he was really posed to be the next big thing after that silly looking Tron reboot and it pleases me that he's not lol. I'm glad when mediocrity doesn't succeed.

I watched that Beach House movie, I think it was featured in your post last week or the week before. It is new on Shudder (shudder original I believe). I really liked it! It had Color Out of Space vibes, and the body horror was well done. It didn't have too much body horror either, but what was shown in the film was definitely enough to even make me squirm. It was really bleak, but I enjoyed it.

The Sunlit White looks terrible... like almost as bad as a Wes Anderson film.

Loved Palm Springs and enjoyed The Old Guard, but never got around to watching First Cow. It's so convenient when a streaming service I already subscribe to has a film that I end up prioritizing those over ones I'd have to rent. Makes sense, but sucks for films trying to make some money in the current media landscape.

Of these, I'd watch Dirt Music for Kelly Macdonald alone - I've loved her since Boardwalk Empire - and Carmilla looks like it could be good. I'd be into The Sunlit Night, but it is getting trash reviews, so that's not high on the priority list.

I was excited to see The Weekend show up on Hulu bc I like Sasheer and meant to check it out and never did, so I figured some other folks might also be interested.
