The really hardcore ones do tend to refuse treatments, but it's not 100% a rule per se, it's kind of a culture thing. There's a belief that illnesses are caused by a "potential trouble source" or a "suppressive person" who wishes you harm and can cause bad things to happen to you. The true believer types don't seek proper medical help because there is NO WAY they are in contact with anyone like that and they can heal themselves through scientology "tech". The ex-Scientology Youtubers have all said that there is a HUGE percentage of OT (high level) members that die of cancer, heart attacks, strokes, etc. at comparatively young ages due to this belief.
