So cool. I don’t care for fashion or modeling anymore, but it’s kind of amazing how many modeling careers SI has moved while the rest of the industry was some sort of -phobic and giving women eating disorders

I’ll always be in two minds about this type of “acceptance” that’s rooted in patriarchal bullshit and misogyny but advances in visibility and acceptance are always good and if she’s loving it, awesome! Probably said that a bit messily but hopefully my meaning is clear

Considering the majority of trans women in Brazil have to resort to prostitution for income, I think modelling is a pretty good deal for her.

But I get what you mean.

yeah... this is exactly why I can't fully get behind "TERF" rhetoric, as much as I want to be sure radical feminist concerns about sex-based oppression are addressed. trans people might reinforce some patriarchal norms, but it's often a matter of survival. even if you believe trans people should go to therapy and learn to live as the sex they were assigned at birth, not everyone would have access to those things. I don't believe that, and I don't mean to be condescending to trans people, but like... idk they're not the enemy, it's patriarchal expectations.

I can't get behind TERF rethoric at all.

I also can't fucking deal with people coming to posts about trans models or black models like "yay now all women can be ojectified" because... cis white women are the ones who get to be considered "beautiful" enough to even become a model, it's hardly the same thing.

I'm not saying being objectified is GOOD by any means, btw.

Brazil remains forever transphobic, and LGBT+phobic in general
