Really excited for The Old Guard, Palm Springs, and First Cow!! Haven't had a weekend like this in a while.

Last night we watched Death Becomes Her, which is streaming on HBO Max. It was exceedingly OTT, and some of the humor was really dumb (the extended sequence of Goldie Hawn as a fat cat lady eating icing with her fingers was, uhhhh... not great), but it had me laughing hysterically at points. ("The morgue? She'll be furious!!") And I loved the way all three of the leads (and Isabella Rossellini!) really leaned into the wackiness of it all. Meryl was hilarious, and looked amazing to boot. I didn't realize Goldie Hawn was older than her til I was looking at IMDB to see how old they were when they filmed this.

Other recent watches included Josie and the Pussycats (enjoyed it!) and finishing up Mr. Robot (excellent) and The Great (pretty good). I love the accomplished feeling (lol) of finishing a TV show - now for the hardest part, which is deciding exactly what from my extensive "to watch" list to watch next.

I was so relieved that Mr. Robot's finale was solid amidst other disappointments in my life around the time it aired

My local theatre is doing virtual showings of We Are Little Zombies so I'll prob check that out!

i watched that romcom on netflix with gina rodriguez called someone great and i actually enjoyed it a lot. i'm surprised people on letterboxd didn't like it that much

Oh man I've been seeing a giant billboard of The Old Guard on my way home every day and I assumed it was Charlize's Fast & the Furious Netflix project but I'm glad it's not! Gonna check this out.

I started and finished Watchmen last weekend and loved it! Also watched Ju-On Origins on Netflix (it was ok). Most recently I rewatched Inside Man and it still holds up (pun intended)
