I've never read Ready Player One and haven't seen the movie, so whatever.

I don't know if its the worst example, but my husband loves Stephen King's Dark Tower series, so I read the first book and the women characters are so bad and mostly non-existent; I just can't get into the series because of it.

They introduce the female character in the second book. Idk what people think of Susannah but she's fairly complex and pretty decent.

I haven't read Final Girls either, but I did read The Last Time I Lied and I was not a fan.

obviously this is just my opinion but i felt like you could tell it was written by a man- there seemed to be no nuance to the character and her sexuality and everything felt forced
