Hulu has renewed "The Great" for a second season. The irreverant semi-historical series follows the early days of Catherine the Great (Elle Fanning) and is the creation of "The Favourite" writer Tony McNamara.

I enjoyed this show so much more than I thought I would. Elle is actually like... really really good?

Nicholas Hoult is really great in it too, but even though the series takes a very loose view of history, Peter has still gotta die soon, right???

Paul I was born in 1754, Peter died in 1762...so they have a bit of time still to play with.

Anyway, doesn't matter that much. lol. I suspect Peter is going to be around at least all of season 2 because I can't imagine that Tony McNamara would want to say goodbye to the gem that is Nicholas Hoult is as Peter.

But I feel the same - I don't see Tony McNamara letting go of Nicholas as Peter too soon. I think he'll still be around until at the least the s2 finale.

We have like three episodes left in S1... I'm kind of lukewarm on it, tbh, but my husband is digging it so we'll definitely finish it off. Seems like there is probably ample material for a second season.
