good for her. this is so bothersome. it's the major reason i could never 100% get on board with diane's character in bojack even though i wanted to love her.

RBW actually posted a thread basically saying he really shouldn’t have done that and it was incredibly racist looking back at it. I was stunned to see someone actually label their behavior for what it is, and I’m glad he’s been walking the walk.

There was an interview when season 4-5 debuted when he talked about how they started to count lines distributed to PoC and how they had to rework that to find a metric that was more participatory

A non-Viet person playing Diane Nguyen soured me entirely on Bojack, esp. since her character couldn't even pronounce her last name correctly.

Good on her for taking the initiative rather than waiting for Netflix to make the change. Since it's animated it would be really easy to retroactively replace all her dialogue with whoever they cast.

like... it hasn't even been released on DVD has it? It only lives on netflix which could be swapped out no problem
