tbh when powerful people in the industry pass, all I can think about is how much they know about abuses of power and their complicitness in maintaining a wildly exploitative institution.

To have a career like this, you HAVE to know a lot of shit and keep quiet. That's the only way you get to the top of any field.

Batman & Robin is a perfect movie from start to finish and I am forever indebited to him cause Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy was absolutely up there in terms of my sexual awakening.

Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy was absolutely up there in terms of my sexual awakening

no joke: same. she was absolutely stunning, i don't think anyone can physically top it. the hair, the makeup, the costume, her entire existence; it was like looking at the stars.

While I get that every industry has abusers and super violent ppl in positions of power. Hollywood is interesting in that there are so many open secrets.

If you asked the average worker of a fortune 500 company about the higher ups of their company, they may not be able to tell you much. But the ppl that work craft services (which is in no way affiliated with the cheese brand somehow?) could spill tea abt soooooooo many ppl in the entertainment biz.

Hell, even we knew abt weinstein for ~ decade before he was publicly named in a serious way.

lol. i used to think craft services was like an arts and crafts table, and was so confused to its presence.

and i agree, re how it's interesting that everyone knows everything and everybody in hollywood, whereas in other industries, there's still abuse, but people are less likely to know about it.

it makes sense when you think about it. any given film set is sort of analogous to an office and usually people are clued in on the gossip that pertains to their office. plus, craft is going to interact with stars, directors, etc. way more than like, an average office manager person is going to interact with upper management. add in extremely high "turnover" (i.e. doing mult. movies or TV shows in a year) and it's no surprise that gossip flies.

Plus extras work on different shows & movies so they see/hear a lot of stuff that goes on.
