again, when all the BLM posts stop being trendy, we'll see who's actually about that life and who's not. White people love assuming that just because they have black friends or live in a predominately black neighborhood that they know the struggle. Also, black people who give their white friends a nigga pass can also choke. I have been talking to this guy on scruff for a few months. I very rarely engage with white gays but alas I did anyways. Of course first thing out of his mouth was "rioting and looting isn't good" and that he was justified in that bc he lives in a predominately black neighborhood.

That'll be our last convo. I'm trying to not be that black person who just does not interact with white people but I'm just at a point in this moment where I'm just ignoring them, not hanging out with them, don't care to help them understand.

We had a meeting about it at work which was good.

I don't understand the "pass" at all. I had a young black guy try to "give me the pass" and it's like... okay even if YOU PERSONALLY are okay with it, even if YOU PERSONALLY know me, you cannot speak for the entire race, you cannot ensure everyone's comfort with it, and you cannot erase centuries of pain rooted in that word, so what are you actually saying?

Furthermore, why would I WANT to say that? In this "day and age," anyone old enough to comprehend race knows how loaded that word is, and how it coming out of mouths like mine has never resulted in anything positive, so why is this a thing that's desired?

People want to feel cool, and use it in the same way black people use it to mean "friend" etc but it's like....? Who gives a fuck? Or "I want to sing along to my favourite songs" I listen to a lot of music with the n word, I manage to avoid saying it and still sing a long and enjoy 🙄 it doesn't change shit lmao and it's very simple to just respect that simple request as a non black person and just not say the word, for any reason ( ... )

Yeah, I also manage to avoid saying it while singing along, like? If you have such self-control issues that you can't avoid saying one word for your entire life, you should seek help. Not hurting the feelings of people I care about matters infinitely more to me.
