I really loved the early scene in the first episode where they used Fleetwood Mac’s Tusk. I never liked that song before that, but it was so perfect for that scene, and it really set up the tension of the show right from the start.
The way they cut it to draw it out was so good too! I always figured they most have had to pay a lot of money to use it so they made sure to get their money's worth!
Isn't there a scene in a later season where they used The Chain or am I imagining that?
Ugh, I need to finally get around to finishing this show.
I remember thinking that the show was going to be huge, based on how great that number was. I mean - the pilot episode is totally different in tone to every episode after it, but it still holds up okay.
The pilot was so good! The show went to shit and I was hate watching by the end, but OMG the pilot still makes me so happy. But knowing that Corey died, watching this performance always ends up making me cry.
On a shallow note, I liked how Lea looked here. I try not to comment on people's bodies but I got worried in the later seasons when she started getting super skinny. I thought she looked great in the pilot.
Brother in Arms by Dire Straits in this moment of the West Wing was fucking PERFECT. Two Cathedrals in general is an absolutely perfect episode of television but the last few minutes absolutely slay me.
