sadly I think a lot of people can't. This type of situation brings out the best and worst in humankind. I am trying to find the good for my own sanity but when stuff like this happens it can honestly (hate to use the word but) trigger something in me where I don't want to trust things can be good. This makes me sound insanely dramatic but maybe someone else gets it?

I get it. A lot of people do good deeds that they can capitalize off of somehow. Monetarily like in this case but to position themselves as an authority/expert, be seen as a good person, or something like that.

I think it's about perspective. The reality is that humans are innately selfish, it's about learning how to understand how that selfishness impacts others if you choose to have relationships. Obviously, some relationships you get by birth but maintaining those relationships is a willingness to continuously look at your selfish behavior. Also, it depends on what your definition of good is and that is subjective. We as a society are always deciding what is good but that definition involves so many factors. I would say that things that do not hurt a large percentage of people might be closer to "good". Then that adds a whole different layer to it because the reality is that if you live in a capitalistic society, many things that you are doing harm a large number of people. Me simply buying clothes from certain places trickles down and harms many women and children

kinda makes me feel icky NGL. maybe he is donating the rights $ to charity? or at least a good portion? Otherwise I see the criticism as valid. I think a big reason why celebs did it so willingly was because it was for a good cause - no $ attached

I am with you bb. My sister LOVES this show and its gotten her through some tough times (she is a nurse). I am almost afraid to text her about this cus I think it would upset her to know he sold it for god knows how much to a big corp. Really hoping I am way off and he is donating the $ but I haven't heard anything about that.
