I can afford my rent but want to get out of my lease. I hope my apt complex is understanding and waives any fees.

I have a feeling my landlord is going to try to raise my rent (which is already over $2400 for a one bedroom) and I'm just going to have to suck it up and deal because I have asthma and a heart condition and don't want to go apartment-hunting during a pandemic. :/

Yep per month and that's after talking my landlord down from a bigger increase last year.

these posts always make me realize what a trip it is to live in a city with nothing of value in it like I do. its super boring but super cheap I guess. 2400 is about the national average monthly income here, I dont make that much a month. I pay 600 bucks for three bedrooms, which I used to think was steep but now I am humbled.

I rent 'socially', and can expect a yearly rise. This year it came with a news letter article about All The Things We Do With Your Rent and how the yearly rise is absolutely necessary. Meanwhile they still haven't replied to my question about how I can fight last year's rise, though.

I just started a reduced schedule and workshare today. My job is filing group unemployment on everyone's behalf, but who knows when that check will arrive. Luckily, I've been saving as much as I can since this all started so I'll be okay for a couple of months, but it all sucks. And my place has been trying to price me out for awhile as they are renovating all the apartments here and jacking up the rent. But every time I've looked for places to move to, the rent is at least $200 more a month is not double that. And I live in a not great part of town near Los Angeles.
