I don't know about Miss or Nigel but he says that usually they did their contracts 4 cycles at a time but he negotiated down to 2 years for the 17th and 18th cycles and contractually couldn't clarify it at the time

I can understand being in a compromised position and the fear. it's not at all farfetched that he didn't go to Tyra or someone else but was concerned. In the article he both praises tyra's strengths and hold her accountable for her messes so I believe him.
