It's weird that they would say "no outdoor locations" since it seems like it would be easier to social distance outside.

My guess is that filming Outdoor requires the movilization of a lot more people to places that they don't have control about who's there, or who's been there.

Yes I think that's the reason, even though it threw me a bit when I first saw it. Much easier to control who comes in and out when filming on soundstages, in buildings etc

We are having the same conversations in the theatre world. If these are the pre-cautions we have to take, then we aren't ready or safe to start working TBH.

Pre-production and planning is possible, but we are still putting certain groups at risk, especially the actors since they can't really wear hazmat suits etc.

Yep. I'm an opera singer and singing with other people is one of the least safe things we should be doing right now--we're constantly expelling breath, spitting out consonants, sharing props, etc etc. It's just bad news rn.

This is dumb, so soe people are still going to be possibly at risk of exposure, not to mention all the no extras/outdoor scene/etc is going to look weird on screen. Just put new production on hold until next year or so when there's a vaccine. These are half measure that won't do any good in the large scheme of things.

Agree. 1) you’re putting groups at risk regardless 2) the final product likely won’t be great and look/feel awkward. Movies without intimate scenes? No action? Should everyone in every scene be 6 ft apart? Like just wait until it’s safe.

Lol right? Unless they are also facing the covid-19 pandemic in their story-line/world, it will look a mess. not worth it.

bc there might not be a vaccine next year. i agree this is silly, but these discussions are important to have.
