It all started with Florence posting the message below to her instagram. Feeling cooped up and uninspired, Florence-like many of us-was revitalized by Fiona's Fetch The Bolt Cutters:
aw i just came here to post flo's video lol. her voice is so lovely!
these two being fans of each other is so sweet. i need to relisten to fiona's new album, it didn't stick w me when i gave it a first listen, but i always need longer to rly connect w music.
i really like it, but there's definitely an organized chaos energy to it.
the opening track to her previous album - "every single night" - talks about what it's like inside her head. the new album, to me, is what it sounds like in there.
yes this is how i see it! it is beautifully complicated chaotic intelligent and i love how at times it's whimsical yet ultimately she is vulnerable. i don't know why some people are having a hard time digesting it, but maybe it's because i relate to her so much. for me, the record is such a relief - both musically and with the current climate. i know it sounds silly, but i feel cleansed and energized. in the end, it's what she wanted and she went through a lot of shit in the time span of writing it, so if she's happy with the result, good for her! :)
