The widower of the iconic late Tejano singer Selena has spoken up about the upcoming Netflix series being done by the Quintanilla family. In an Instagram post two days ago, guitarist Chris Perez put up a picture of the actor playing him in the series, saying in part:

"For the record, never met him, haven't seen the script, and I have NO idea what is going on.....but, I'd love to find out. 🧐🧐"

Chris has had a famously tense relationship with the Quintanilla family, specifically Selena's father Abraham. Recently Abraham sued to stop Chris' own series based on his book "To Selena With Love." Chris has also spoken about the tense reunion at Selena's Walk of Fame ceremony, saying:

"Technically, I was invited via email...But I didn’t feel very welcome, and her family didn’t make it easy. I get the feeling that they were hoping by making it difficult for me that I wouldn’t show up and it would cast me in a bad light to her fans...I might feel a certain way about it, but what would Selena want? I want to keep everything together for her."

The family's attempts didn't work at the ceremony, with Chris ending up getting the biggest applause and a solo photo session with Selena's star. And now we have Chris speaking up about the Netflix series.

Stay tuned...
