I completely dropped off the reading challenge since the pandemic, I usually read on the metro to and from work but now that I’m telecommuting I really have to be intentional about finding time for it. I tried to read the road for March but I really didn’t enjoy it and haven’t finished it

I’m gonna try to give April’s challenge a shot tho, fingers crossed for me

ever since I moved last summer, reading has been really difficult for me. I always had a seat on the train when I commuted from my old place, and a good 20-40 minutes each way to read. Now, I'm lucky if I can even squeeze myself on the train, forget trying to read, I can only focus on holding onto something lol. And now that I'm working from home, forget it... at the end of the day I put on a movie and go to sleep.

I'm not sure what I'll read for April either, I already have a shit ton of books sitting around that I need to get to...

Good luck!

Congrats on ur new place! I lucked out and was on the first stop of the metro so I always had a seat. And I was proud of having time to read to and from work. When I’m home I get so consumed by tv that I really don’t push myself to read, but on the metro it’s so easy.

And same, I have so many books I wanna get into and don’t know where to start back up lol, I guess it’s a good problem to have tho.

Also thanks, good luck to you too!! And stay safe!

Same here. Without a commute, I've found it difficult to find time to read. I think I might shelve my March book and carve out some reading time with an April pick to try and get back into it.

Maybe I'll finally finish the Devil in the White City during quarantine. I've been in the middle of it for WAY too long.

wait omg I've had Brick Lane on my bookshelf for like 4 years and forgot about it/have never gotten around to reading it since I get all my books from the library. Now the library's closed so wow how timely

i'm still unsure of what to read for this month, but i think i'm going to read kim jinyoung born 1982. it was controversial in south korea & what got me wanting to read it was several idols had read it & received a lot of hate from reading it. i have it on preorder since it is set to come out this month.

I was curious about this too! May also read it. Wasn’t it also made into a movie with Gong Yoo or am I thinking of a different book

That's the one! Jung Yumi is the lead, it did pretty well at the box office too.

(Dispiriting though, to see how many South Korean men treated the mere existence of the book as a personal insult)
