there are always 23; the last two are sometimes a two parter. sometimes they leave something hanging from the finale for the next season.

i'm usually all about this show but i felt conflicted about last night's ~ripped from the headlines~ story. the sexual assault victim whose story they based it on wasn't involved or notified at all, and was watching it crying on instagram last night. she said it triggered all kinds of bad feelings for her.
