i'm excited to do a rewatch of 'the best years of our lives' tonight because it was a fucking beautiful masterpiece from when i saw it many years ago. i hope it still holds up

Gonna rent Bacurau from a local indie theater that worked out a streaming deal for $12.

Portrait of a Lady on Fire (they should've hired me to do the publicity) will be on Hulu tonight!

I loved Support the Girls! Highly recommended for anyone looking for something to watch.

I rented Emma on iTunes last weekend and it was the BEST DECISION EVER. Such a lovely movie. I also really want to see The Invisible Man but am not sure if I should swing another $20 just for a rental.

Other movies I've watched this week include Emma (1996) which was not quite as good as the new one but still enjoyable; A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood which I thought was fantastic; Frozen II which I think I liked more than the first one (though maybe I'm just tired of the first one since I watched it 859389 times with the little boy I used to nanny for); and Jumanji: The Next Level which was entertaining.

I might check out The Platform tonight, it looks interesting! Thank you for continuing to do these posts, OP. <3

i watched the goop emma recently and thought it was actually REALLY terrible. like too on-the-nose but i thought goop herself was good

Yeah I'm not a Goop fan in general (though I do really like her as Pepper Potts) but thought she was pretty good in this, though I'm still iffy on her accent. I thought Toni Colette was wonderful but Ewan MacGregor was LAUGHABLY bad. I think most of my enjoyment of it was really just because I love the story so much.

Either way, the new one is definitely an improvement.
