I'm still pressed to death about what happened to XB Daddy Hugh, like Elnor has been stripped of his father figure TWICE now! Shameful!
Also what a waste of Seven honestly, I was so ready for her to go [Spoiler (click to open)]Borg Queen Dark for a hot sec, then all the drones just got jettisoned. Flop storytelling.
This episode was significantly better for the LACK of Narek though, Harry Treadaway's awful makeup is too much for my eyes to handle.
My biggest take away from this episode is how obsessed i'm getting with Rios. Santiago Cabrera is managing to bring so much character and charisma to everything, including all his fine af holograms.
I haven't seen Santiago Cabrera in anything before and I absolutely love his performance as Rios and the holograms. Loved the various shades of his beard.
The actress playing Narissa irks me. Maybe it's on purpose but while Seven comes across as badass effortlessly and almost casual it seems forced with Narissa. Kudos to Jeri Ryan. Maybe it's on purpose to ramp up the "villain" camp?
Fuck, I miss Data. TNG was the first "grown-up" tv show that I watched as a kid and it made an impression. The shot of his eye in close-up...
I'm really annoyed by Picard atm. Maybe that senile old man thing is on purpose to show his age and his brain illness / anomaly? Idk. I know he is traumatised and desperately trying to ease his survivor's guilt concerning Data's death but hm.
I liked him saying "I suppose we had that in common." in the dinner scene.

And spacing all the borg was such a moment, I was screaming 'no' with Seven.
The season has been a bit uneven, but I'm looking forward to next week.
