I mean if the content is intended for those of us with a close-age range as Hilary/Lizzie it would sense to put on a maturer platform like hulu.
It makes sense with the love, simon spin-off now that I think about it.
Disney shows are aimed mostly for the kids, tweens, and starting teens so they’re not going into topics like sex and other social activities things of that nature.
What she doesn’t understand is nobody cares that much. It has a much larger chance of being successful as a Girl Meets World kind of spin-off than a show based on Lizzie’s adult life. And even then, it’s not the next Game of Thrones. Sorry it didn’t work out, but at least you still have your paparazzi friends?
The thing with GMW was that the fans of the original got to watch got to watch the kids of the oh characters. In this, adult Lizzie mis the main and the fans of the originals don't wanna watch a PG version of the show.
Well, then maybe they need to adjust what the show is about. There’s not enough adult fans who are hardcore about knowing where Lizzie is these days to justify a dumb series about it.
I agree about Lizzie, the reboot is geared to fans of the original show. It should be aimed at 30 somethings. Kids now don’t know who she is and can still watch the original show on D+.
But I think they should have kept Love Simon on D+. There are ways to talk about teen issues with out going into Euphoria territory. And the platform needs more LGBT representation. Not just side characters, but full stories created by the LGBT community.
I think thats the problem. Disney doesn't see having gay main characters as "family friendly" unless they are side characters with five seconds of screen time who don't get a love interest. Its really offensive.
